Conestoga Golf Club, Mesquite, NV

One of the newer courses in Mesquite area, it was part of our Mesquite package with Wolf Creek.  Although not on a par with Wolf Creek (what is though), it was still a beautiful course.  We were paired with a couple from Salt Lake City, who golfed really well and were very nice and interesting.  The course had a lot of elevation, which we love.  The fairways were beautiful (as you can see) and the greens were great, though a little tough. The first 9 holes are on the choppy side with lots of ravines and desert areas.  The back nine are much more wide open but still lots of desert and sand.  There are only two holes where water comes into play, hole 10 is shown above - a par 3. There's another really interesting par 3 on the back (hole 14) where the tee boxes are elevated and you can barely see the green.  Because it's downhill, it's really hard to judge what club to use.  There was a cart girl but we didn't see her alot, the course is large and mountain-y so they should have more than one cart girl. The course was quite crowded but because of the way it was laidd out, we rarely had problems or a wait. Would do this course again in a heartbeat.

Coral Canyon Golf, St. George, UT

http://www.coralcanyongolf.com/index.php
When we arrived in Mesquite we decided to take a drive to St. George and check out some of the golf courses.  When we arrived at Coral Canyon, the first one we went to, it didn't look too crowded.  Of course, it was 3:00 pm! The guy said we could go out for twilight rates ($40), so we did.  Unfortunately, we were behind a couple of really slow players or we would have whipped through that course.  It was beautiful but there were high wind warnings that afternoon and it was extremely windy any time we were elevated at all.  The fairways were in beautiful condition, as were the greens.  As expected, the areas outside the fairways were desert.  We didn't always look for lost balls. The folks at the course were really nice but no cart girl and no bathrooms on the course. I thought this was a good deal for the money though and would happily golf here again.
